Application Process

Step 1: Apply below

• You will need one of either your Birth Certificate, Passport, Drivers Licence (front and back) or UQ Staff ID Card.
• Are you a UQ Student? - Please use your personal email for your application. 
• IMPORTANT NOTE: The CPR unit is included in the First Aid course, please do not book into a CPR refresher date as well. 

Step 2: Log into Learner Portal

• You will receive a confirmation of enrolmnent, follow the steps to create a login to your Learner Portal via email.

Step 3: Complete tasks within your Learner Portal 

• Pay and upload a payment receipt, unless you belong to one of the following staff cohorts:
  • UQ Staff Development Program 
  • UQ Faculty of Science - Seek funding approval from sciohs@uq.edu.au
• If you belong to one of the above staff cohorts, upload a signed Supervisor Approval Form..
• Complete your e-learning and Theory Assessments (deadline of 11.59pm one day prior to the practical workshop).

Step 4: Receive Confirmation of Enrolment

• One day prior to the Practical Workshop you will receive a Confirmation of your workshop details should you have met the assessment requirements. 

Step 5: Pay your course fees

• IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not pay both the First aid and CPR fees separately. Only pay for the First Aid course fee, it includes the CPR component. 

Step 6: Attend the Practical Workshop

 

Returning Applicants

• If you have previously applied for a course with UQ Skills, you must reapply with the same email and full name to link your new application to your existing profile. 
• Apply with your full name as listed in your identification evidence.

Rebooking

• If you do not meet the theory deadline, you will be withdrawn and invited to rebook the practical workshop within six weeks.
• A $60 (First Aid) or $35 (CPR) rebooking fee will apply. 

Student Handbook  

Please take the time to read our Student Handbook. This contains information about important UQ Skills policies, procedures and critical information on subjects like student support, complaints/appeal, fees and certificate issuance. The Student Handbook details any resources a student could need to undertake their program. It is the student’s responsibility to read, know and understand the rules and requirements in the Student Handbook. 

USI Number  

All participants must supply a USI number, this course is accredited training and by enrolling, you are a student. Supplying a USI Number is a government requirement for all students that are participating in Vocational educational programs. Please contact UQ Skills for assistance applying if you haven’t arrived in Australia yet.
